Kybella: Double Chin Reduction and Fat Reduction

We are proud to be among the first practices in New York to offer Kybella. Kybella is an FDA approved (deoxycholic acid) injection that can be used to permanently reduce excess fat below the chin, commonly known as “double chin.” Kybella can also be used for fat reduction in other small fatty bulges such as the front of underarms or fat around the knee. Excess fat accumulation is influenced by multiple factors, and can be resistant to diet and exercise.

About Submental Full (Double Chin)

Double chins (known in the medical community as “submental fullness”) may affect adult women and men of different ages and weights. Both the aging process and genetics contribute to submental fullness. Double chins are often resistant to diet and exercise. Sixty-eight percent of respondents said they are bothered by their double chin in a recent survey.*

What is Kybella?

Kybella is formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance that destroys fat cells in the targeted area. Kybella reduces fat gradually, and patients may have anywhere from three to six treatments spaced one month apart to achieve their desired results. The destruction of the cells prevent that area from storing or accumulating fat in the future. With Kybella, after the treatments series are complete, re-treatment is usually not necessary, and the most common side effects are mild and limited to the treatment area.
“I am excited to add Kybella to the solutions I can offer my patients for their body contouring needs in addition to the CoolMini and liposuction. We now have an excellent array of solutions available.”
